Studying as a parent
To enable you to study in peace, we will take care of your child during your lecture periods in one of the Studentenwerk's six child-care facilities.
The various nurseries and kindergartens run by the Studentenwerk Stuttgart are located in Stuttgart, Ludwigsburg and Esslingen. They are run on very different principles, but all of them meet the requirements of the orientation plan. The children are cared for by qualified and enthusiastic staff. Childred of age 1 to 3 will be taken care of in our nursery groups. Our child care centres in Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg take care of children from age 3 until they start school.
Crèches for the very young
For very young children of 6 months to 3 years of age, two crèches were set up in 1994 with the support of the Studentenwerk Stuttgart, offering all-day care. The crèches are run by STUPS e.V. You may sign up your children at the crèches directly and not through the Studentenwerk Stuttgart.
Admission
Our facilities cater primarily for the children of students. Children whose siblings already attend a particular nursery or kindergarten, in particular children of single parents, are also given priority.
Registration
You will then receive the final notice of admission from the daycare service centre.
Financial contributions
Those on low incomes can receive a child care grant from the Jugendamt (Youth Welfare Department).
